Sick

There are some days I experience so much sin it makes me sick to my stomach. These days I get a very clear picture as to the control Satan has over the world and how corrupt society is. Today is one of those days. My stomach aches. I hate sin.

I am so thankful for Jesus.

What's New?

I love children. VBS really opened my eyes to that. I also love music. That opened my eyes that maybe teaching music to children would be something I would enjoy! I'll be teaching one or two music classes in Honduras, so that will be a good trial-run!

I'm thankful for God's perfect timing. As an update to those who didn't know, I recently found out I have a thyroid disease. I get to take a pill for the rest of my life!! But I'm totally alright with it! My dad's mom and one of my aunts have both been on the same pill for 15 years. I guess that means I'm not adopted... God completely provided and timed everything that needed to happen for it exactly when it came about.

I love the book "Blue like Jazz". Haven't quite finished it yet, but I love it already. Can't wait to pass it along to others.

Kung Fu Panda is funny. I like the monkey. Thanks to a generous "summer fun" package from McFarland, Jamie and I enjoyed a full movie splurge with popcorn, milkduds, pop-the whole shibang. Best line of the night was probably when we were ordering food and the guy asked if we were going to see "Sex and the City". He was kinda surprised that we weren't!

Both brothers graduated in May- I think Dan calculated that was 66.666% of the McClanahan children, but if calculated off of mass, it was about 76% of the McClanahan children.

Well, I think that's about it! Thank you few, but fabulous, readers! Love!

Only in America...

The driver of this semi had only been in the U.S. a few months. He had missed his turn by Billings MT, and figured he could go over the hill and continue on the road. Apparently he didn't know there were train tracks on top of the grade. He was stuck anyhow..... The truck owner figured he had to hit the angle at over 55 miles an hour in order to make the top. If you look close at some of the pictures you will see that it is only when the trailer pinched the rear tires of the truck that the truck stopped ...

Meditations

I've been meditating a lot on Romans 12:9-21. This was one of the Renovation team's memory passages-

"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil;
cling to what is good. Be
devoted to one another in brotherly love.
Honor one another above yourselves.
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your
spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer. Share with
God's people who are in need. Practice
hospitality. Bless those who persecute you;
bless and do not curse. Rejoice with
those who rejoice; mourn with those who
mourn. Live in harmony with one
another. Do not be proud, but be willing to
associate with people of low
position. Do not be conceited.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be
careful to do what is right in the
eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as
it depends on you, live at
peace with everyone. Do not take revenge,
my friends, but leave room for
God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to
avenge; I will repay," says
the Lord. On the contrary: "If your enemy
is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty,
give him something to drink. In doing
this, you will heap burning coals on his head.
Do not be overcome by evil,
but overcome evil with good."

This is a LOADED passage.

I mean, look at all of this...

Be DEVOTED to one another in brotherly love.
HONOR one another above yourselves.
Be JOYFUL in hope
PATIENT in affliction
FAITHFUL in prayer.
Do NOT be proud.
Do NOT be conceited.
Live in HARMONY with one another.
BLESS those who persecute you.
Bless and DO NOT curse.
Do NOT take revenge.

Wow, a lot to strive for, huh? Good thing we have a patient God!!
